My name is June Mikado. 

I am a mixed-race Yonsei, which is a term used within the Japanese Canadian diaspora to describe fourth-generation Japanese descendants. I’m of Japanese descent through my father and Dutch descent through my mother. I am currently based in Toronto.

Athletics have always been an important part of my life. I played college volleyball and continue to stay active through basketball and other sports. I also enjoy spending time with my mini-labradoodle and exploring new cuisines across the city.

Modelling became a part of my life fairly recently and has been both meaningful and empowering. I have often found it challenging to find clothing suited to both my height and curves, so it has been encouraging to see a shift in fashion toward embracing a broader range of body types. 

I look forward to seeing the industry continue to become more inclusive, thoughtful, and representative of the world we live in.
